Maintenance Technician - Full Time/Part Time

We are looking for an experienced maintenance team member to help look after our site.

Working in conjunction with other members of the maintenance team in a busy residential hospital with an extended care facility (a self-contained housing unit for secondary care residents) and lodge cottages for visitors within the 50 acre estate of Castle Craig.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Carry out high quality repairs in an efficient and safe manor.
  • Minor repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery equipment or assist as directed by outsourced contractors,
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on lighting, water and heating services,
  • High quality repairs to building fabric e.g. plasterwork, floor coverings, ceramic tiles and re-grout as required,
  • Identify, report and rectify any hazards and maintenance requirements,
  • Carry out minor redecoration works,
  • Carry out general labouring duties,
  • Carry out repairs to medical and non medical equipment, to include wheelchairs and trolleys.
  • Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities 
  • Materials and equipment uplift and delivery.
  • Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Carry out meter readings for all utilities.
  • Follow Health & Safety Policies and safe working practices.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual capable of problem solving and taking care in all aspects of their work. Ideally the candidate will have experience of painting and decorating, power tool work, plumbing and dealing with suppliers and contractors. Driving license and own transportation is essential.

In general the working week is 40 hours, working 08.00 – 16.00. Annual holiday entitlement is 20 statutory days with 9 public holidays, totalling 29 days annually.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week or part-time on agreement

Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience
